Turtle figurine on Lid
Artist: Ben Diller-California

These beautiful little "Dream" Jars are adorned with a decorative "Aumakua" Sea Turtle sculpture on the lid
In Hawaiian, "aumakua" is defined as a benevolent guardian spirit or family protector.
The Hawaiian Green Sea Turtle is the only indigenous reptile found in Hawaii. For Hawaiians, it is a symbol of good luck in the form of a guardian of the surrounding seas
Dream jars are often called "Manifestation"Jars. Place your dreams or wishes in the jar and visualize the dream or wish coming true.
Created in the “Western” raku method
A process in which work is removed from the kiln at bright red heat and subjected to post-firing reduction (or smoking) by being placed in containers of combustible materials, which blackens raw clay and causes crazing and flashes of brilliant color on the surface.
Each piece is completely unique in its reaction to the post-firing reduction.
These particular jars shows typical random color flashings on the turtle sculpture and the jar. The base of the lid is smoked black.
