In 1993 hand-painted, authorized reproductions of English pottery artist, Clarice Cliff’s designs were produced by in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. The originals of these pieces are in the MMA collection. There were different six pieces available. This is a set of four cup and saucers with the Clarice Cliff Autumn pattern. The saucers measure 6 inches wide and the cup is 3 ½ inches wide by 2 ½ inches tall. Clarice Cliff was an English artist who produced hand-painted pottery designs from her studio beginning in 1927 and her designs boast colorful Art Deco pedigrees. All the MMA pieces were painted by hand in the Philippines to museum standards. They are marked with an impressed copyright symbol, the year 1993 and the letters MMA.
