A look back at how sailors were trained to perform underwater work at the Deep Sea Diving School in Washington Navy Yard.  Working out in a rescue chamber, the men were taught to work at terrific pressures. Pictures of a diver in full dress in one of the high-pressure tanks, and boarding a vessel.
