Bad news first, this may be a 'parts' boiler and engine, or a repair engine, as the spokes on the flywheel are all cracked, also whatever the engine drove is not there.  The good news is plentiful as all the other parts are present: the oft-missing smokestack, safety valve, whistle, gauge, fire box door (which is marked: MARKLIN 6 Germany) and the burner.  If you turn the flywheel by finger the engine and all linkage moves as it should and would benefit from a good cleaning.  Base is 12" square.  Small patch of very light surface rust on back corner.  Also included are some pages in German/English which may or maynot be related.
