Vintage USD "vigo" SCUBA DIVING TANK and REGULATOR 1959

Description

US Divers single hose "AQUA-MATIC" regulator and TANK/HARNESS ASSY.  circa 1959 only.
The
VIGO
was introduced into US Divers catalog 1959 only.
USD purchased WWII military surplus 18 cu. ft. O2 tanks and converted them for SCUBA use.
You will see original hydro dates starting in 1943 + and with government stamping.
Sold as a set that included the "Aqua-Matic" single hose regulator that was introduced back in
1957.  For the harness they chose to use durable plastic and metal belt loops.
The entire systerm only weights 10 lb 5 oz (empty of air).
NOTE the green LP hose on regulator, just like in the catalog photo, this is a hard item to find, scarce.
Advertised as ideal for training, boat owners, rescue squads, life guards and as a auxillery unit,
hence the name
VIGO
(
Versatile on the GO
).
It was advertised one year only and very short lived.
These do not come up very often.

Regulator in beautiful condition shows no to little use.
Tank has been last hydro tested in 1959.
